Training Skills Behind This Class
Photos from the 49th Dog Training Class show one point in Prodogz's ongoing group-training history. Beginning July 31, 2017, this series followed the same practical idea that still guides Basic Obedience: teach the dog what earns reinforcement, then gradually ask for reliability in more realistic situations.
Because this is an archived class from 2017, the photographs are presented as a historical record rather than as a claim that every pictured dog is performing every skill described below. These are core skills taught across this Prodogz class series.
Leave it, take it and better choices
Exercises such as leave it and take it help dogs learn that access to things can be controlled through communication with the handler. That same concept supports safer choices around dropped items, food, toys and everyday distractions while strengthening the dog's habit of checking in before acting.
Recall and attention
Coming when called is another important part of the obedience foundation. Owners learn to make the recall cue meaningful, reward the response clearly and build reliability in manageable steps instead of repeatedly calling a dog that is too distracted to succeed.
Engagement and clear communication
A recurring priority in Prodogz Basic Obedience is teaching the dog to pay attention to the handler before asking for harder behaviors. Engagement, eye contact and marker training give owners a clear way to show the dog when it made the right choice, creating a foundation for the rest of the class.
This is a historical gallery, but the training concepts remain useful for current owners. Learn more about Prodogz Basic Obedience or review behavior training options when the challenge goes beyond foundation obedience.
