Puppy Training Behind the Photos

Photos from the 101st Puppy Class document one chapter of Prodogz's Puppy Preschool history. Starting September 24, 2024, owners worked from the same core idea that guides the program today: build engagement and confidence first, then use those foundations to teach manners and early obedience.

Because this is an archived class from 2024, the photographs are presented as a historical record rather than as a claim that every pictured dog is performing every skill described below. These are core skills taught across this Prodogz class series.

Confidence and thoughtful socialization

Puppy socialization is approached as confidence building, not simply meeting as many dogs or people as possible. Safe exposure to new surfaces, sounds, handling, environments and appropriate social experiences helps puppies learn to recover from novelty without becoming overwhelmed.

Puppy biting and jumping foundations

Puppy biting and jumping are normal young-dog behaviors, but they are much easier to shape before they become practiced habits. Owners learn how to redirect biting, reward appropriate interaction and teach the puppy that calm behavior and four paws on the floor are more successful ways to get attention.

Engagement and name recognition

One of the first Puppy Preschool goals is teaching the puppy that paying attention to the owner is rewarding. Engagement and name-recognition games create an early communication habit that makes later obedience easier because the puppy learns to orient back to the handler instead of constantly following the environment.

This gallery is historical, but the early-training goals remain relevant. See current Prodogz puppy classes for upcoming dates and enrollment details in Medford.
