Training Skills Behind This Class
This October 31, 2014 archive records the 16th Dog Training Class at Prodogz Dog Training. The class series focuses on the everyday skills that help dogs and owners function better together, rather than training behaviors only for a classroom setting.
Because this is an archived class from 2014, the photographs are presented as a historical record rather than as a claim that every pictured dog is performing every skill described below. These are core skills taught across this Prodogz class series.
Handler timing and fading food rewards
Owners are taught how reward timing, repetition and consistency affect learning. Food is useful for teaching new behaviors, but the program also shows handlers how to reduce dependence on visible treats over time so the dog responds to clear communication instead of only working when food is shown first.
Recall and attention
Coming when called is another important part of the obedience foundation. Owners learn to make the recall cue meaningful, reward the response clearly and build reliability in manageable steps instead of repeatedly calling a dog that is too distracted to succeed.
Loose-leash walking around distractions
Handlers work on loose-leash walking and maintaining focus when other dogs, people, movement and interesting smells are nearby. The goal is practical control for everyday walks: less pulling, better check-ins with the handler and a dog that can return its attention when the environment becomes distracting.
This is a historical gallery, but the training concepts remain useful for current owners. Learn more about Prodogz Basic Obedience or review behavior training options when the challenge goes beyond foundation obedience.
