Class time: Most group classes are held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Your exact class start date and class type will be confirmed by Prodogz.
What to Bring to Class
Bring 2-3 sandwich bags full of soft, high-value food such as hot dogs, string cheese, lunch meat, or cooked chicken.
Please bring a standard leash. No retractable leashes.
Bring a secure collar that gives you safe control of your dog.
Please bring plastic bags so you can clean up after your dog if needed.
Optional, but very helpful for quick access to your dog's rewards.
Bring any questions or concerns you want help with during class.
Training Food Is Very Important
Please cut your training food into nickel-sized pieces before class. The food should be soft enough to squish between your fingers and easy for your dog to eat quickly.
Please avoid: hard treats, crunchy biscuits, and dry kibble. These are usually not valuable enough and slow the training process down.
We recommend not feeding your dog breakfast or a large meal before class. A slightly hungry dog is usually more focused and motivated to work for rewards. You can feed your dog's regular meal after class.
Another option is Tuna Fudge. You can find a recipe here: Dog Treat Recipe - Tuna Fudge.
First Class Expectations
The first class is often exciting for many dogs. Barking, whining, pulling, or distraction is normal.
If your dog is distracted, scatter a few small pieces of food on the floor near your feet and let your dog search for them. This gives your dog something productive to do and helps redirect attention away from the other dogs.
Live Stream / Video Recording
We live stream many classes on our Facebook page so family members can watch from home if they cannot attend.
